First ask

A message that names the person, the price, and the job. Ready to send.

The note

Hi Priya,

I still think about we worked together at the agency last year. I built a small tool that helps get a client revision out of email and into one list.

I can start you this week at $79 this month. I am not doing a free version for people I know, because I need to learn if this is worth paying for.

If that is too much right now, tell me who else has this mess.

Ask for the money in the same note

Ten customers start with one. The note names how you know them, the job, the price, and when you can start. It does not hide behind a waitlist or a “thoughts?” at the end.

The template follows the same rule as the field guide: a payment link, an invoice, or checkout. Compliments do not count.

FAQ

Questions people get stuck on

Is this for cold email?

No. First customers come from people who already answer you. Cold email is a different week.

Should I offer it free because they know me?

No. A free user teaches you about free users. You need to learn if this is worth paying for.

What if they say the price is high?

Offer a shorter start — one month, one project — not a free plan. If ten people you can name will not give you fifteen minutes, the buyer or the offer is wrong.

How many do I send?

Two a day for three days beats fifty pasted openers. Track sent, replied, booked, paid.
